EVPS(electronic voice phenomena) are believed to be the voices of spirits.
They can either be the voices of a residual spirit energy or that of an active spirit
who is caught on audio. You can capture EVPS with a tape recorder that uses actual tapes,
or one one of the newer digital audio recorders. P.R.I.S.M uses both audiocassette
recorders and digital recorders on our investigations.
- Here are the basic EVP classifications:
EVP messages have been classified by Sarah Estep from AA-EVP as Class A, B or C:
Class A: easily heard and understood from the speakers of a sound system
Class B: can be heard over the speaker but there may not be agreement as to the message. Some words may be agreed on.
Class C: can only be heard with headphones and difficult to understand.
During PRISM'S investigations, we have noted a few things about EVPS during our research: - 1- We get more EVPS when the team is in one room together recording.
- 2- We get more EVPS when the team is in one room having a conversation
- 3- We get more EVPS when we go back to a location more than once, because the spirits get to know our energy.
- 4- Sometimes we will capture one EVP, then capture the same EVP minutes later.
- 5- We have captured the same EVPS on multiple recorders in close proximity to each other.
