Ok, does this sound familiar to you? “ You to can become a certified ghost hunter!” Sounds way to familiar to me. You see ,I fell for that ploy several years ago. Maybe you did too and were left scratching your head.. Please don’t feel bad, you and I are not the only ones. In this article I am going to discuss how I feel about the certification courses that are out there and the pro’s and con’s about them. So cozy up and get ready for a long article, that just may have you wondering , To be certified? Or not to be certified?

First and foremost we must always think of safety! Some of you may say this article is for beginners. I must state that it is NOT! We must all have safety on our minds all the time during an investigation. Even the most seasoned of investigators can slip up and forget common safety practices. It is always nice to brush up on our safety awareness and not to forget the hazards that we do encounter when going into these dark places. In this article I will try to touch on some important facts that we must not ignore.

False positives, a word that I am very familiar with. If you aren’t , then let me explain it. A false positive in the filed of paranormal research can have many faces. The trick is to recognize them. Even as a seasoned investigator, I too can be caught up on false positive material. A false positive is an anomalie in a photograph or other collected data from an investigation that may look like a paranormal occurrence but is actually an explainable occurrence .
